Highway 50 Crash Claims Life of Hayden Man

As a result of the collision, Jerry Bridges was transported to Schneck Medical Center, where he later passed away from his injuries.

(Jefferson, Co.) - According to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, on July 18 a two-vehicle crash on Highway 50 West at County Road 700 West claimed the life of a Hayden man.

The investigation by Sgt. Drew Heilers of the Jennings County Sheriff's Office indicates that at approximately 2:06 p.m., a 2015 Toyota van being driven by Jerry L. Bridges, age 82, for an unknown reason, pulled off County Road 700 West and into the travel portion of the Highway where it was then struck by a concrete truck driven by Travis Carroll of Lovett, Indiana.

As a result of the collision, Jerry Bridges was transported to Schneck Medical Center, where he later passed away from his injuries.

The investigation remains ongoing. Highway 50 West was closed for approximately two hours for crash investigation and cleanup.
