Help Support Milton Fire & Rescue Remodel

$150,000 goal

Milton Fire & Rescue is a donation only department who relies on fund raisers and donations to operate the department. We do not receive any tax funding. With today's increased cost for fuel, equipment, gear, etc. We are finding ourselves always looking for new ways to raise money. This platform will hopefully assist us in raising funds to help remodel our current Station # 1. Station # 1 was built is 1971 making it 48 years old. The station has old oil furnaces which have just gone out and parts are very hard to find and expensive. The doors and windows are very old and have drafts and cracks that you can see through to the outside. The garage doors are also very old and in need of repair. We have done our best to keep our Station up and running for the almost 50 years, but it is time for us to give her a much-needed upgrade. This is our main Station and is in the center of the city of Milton providing fire protection to all those that live and travel through it. We are hoping that this will help us raise the much-needed funding to start our remodel and let us serve the citizens for many years to come.

Our plan is to remodel the current Station and build truck bays on the side where the current parking lot is. We would like to make the current truck bays in the front of the firehouse to a meeting room and community center that could be rented out for events. We would like to remodel our kitchen and upgrade it to better assist us in doing fish fries. We would then like to remodel the back-truck bays and make that area offices for the command staff. Currently the office is one room that is basically in a closet type area. The back-truck bay would also have a maintenance area so we could keep up with the vehicles and equipment. We would also like to make our restrooms better for ourselves and for when we rent the building out or have fish fries. Having central heat and air is much needed since our old window units and oil furnaces cost so much to run. These things cannot be done without donations as our operating budget would not support it.
