Hanover Man Arrested on Drug Charges

Presumption of innocence until otherwise proven guilty. 

                                  

August 24, 2023, Madison Police arrested Michael W. Eden 38, Hanover, Indiana, for,  DEALING METHAMPHETAMINE L-2 FELONY – POSSESSIONOF METHAMPHETAMINE L-4 FELONY – POSSESSION OF A SYRINGE L-6 FELONY - OBSTRUCTION OF JUSTICE L-6 FELONY – MAINTINING A COMMON NUSIANCE L-6 FELONY and POSSESSION OF PARAPHANAILIA CLASS C MISDEMANOR. 

A vehicle being operated by Michael Eden was observed traveling south in the 200 block of Jefferson Street, without headlights when required, a male subject was observed by Shelpman riding on the trunk lid.

Officer Shelpman initiated a traffic stop and observed the driver, later identified as Eden, throw something.  Officer Shelpman was able to locate the discarded articles, a white crystal type substance, which tested positive as methamphetamine. 

Deputy Logan Gray of the Sheriff’s Department, and his K-9 partner “Lykin” responded to Shelpman’s stop,  “Lykin” conducted an open-air sniff around the exterior of the vehicle in which Eden was operating.  The K-9 gave his handler a positive indication for the presence of narcotics.  During the subsequent probable cause search, officers located additional methamphetamine, and items associated with the use and sale of drugs. 

Michael W. Eden was transported to the Jefferson County Jail, where he remains incarcerated on the above alleged charges.  Eden has the presumption of innocence until otherwise proven guilty.
