Closed since June
Hanging Rock Hill has re-opened to traffic in Madison, and it's not a golf cart path.
Hanging Rock Hill (SR 7) had been closed throughout June, July, August and September. Although there is still some cleanup and painting yet to be completed, vehicles were allowed to start using the roadway yesterday afternoon.
The $2.1 million slide correction and asphalt resurfacing project was on a 3.5-mile section of the hill. A soil nail wall wias used to stabilize the sliding roadway by installing steel bars into the hillside that are reinforced with concrete. Following completion of the slide correction, asphalt resurfacing and preventative maintenance was done.
