(Jennings County, Ind.) – On January 8, Jennings County Sergeant Doug Brown attempted a stop a vehicle for a traffic infraction on Country Manor in the Country Squire Lakes subdivision.
The driver failed to stop and fled from deputies at a high rate of speed. During the short vehicle pursuit, the vehicle was intercepted by Deputy Garrett Hoppock was able to stop the vehicle.
The driver, Terry Day, 20, of North Vernon, and passenger, Joshua Hartwell, 36, of North Vernon were placed under arrest without further incident. During the arrest, a loaded 9mm handgun, 10 grams of Methamphetamine, and a small amount of marijuana were in the vehicle.
Both are currently being held in the Jennings County Jail.
Terry Day faces the alleged charges of resisting law enforcement (level 6 felony), possession of a firearm without a permit (class a misdemeanor), possession of methamphetamine (level 5 felony), and possession of marijuana (class a misdemeanor).
Joshua Hartwell faces the alleged charges of possession of methamphetamine (level 5 felony), and possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon (level 4 felony).
