(Madison, Ind.) – Beginning tomorrow residents will need to reroute due to the railroad crossing located near 600 Green Road.
The crossing will be closed beginning at 8:00 a.m. tomorrow October 14 and is expected to be closed until 7:00 that evening. If crews are to finish early, the crossing will re-open accordingly.
These closures are due to new updates from the Indiana Department of Transportation, who is currently working to update the state rail plan to guide the improvement of freight and passenger rail investments in both rural and urban areas throughout the Hoosier state.
Online surveys will soon be available to the general public, and a committee of rail industry representatives from both the public and private sectors will first meet this month.
This process will be conducted through virtual and phone outreach, support efforts to provide safe, efficient, and convenient rail transportation systems for all of Indiana’s residents.
