Green Apple Award Presented To Shawe & Pope John Cafeteria Staff

(Madison, Ind.) – It has been announced that Shawe Memorial and Pope John received an award from the state of Indiana.

Yesterday, the school announced that the cafeteria staff, headed by Brenda Lauderbaugh, received the Golden Apple Award from the state of Indiana for their excellent work.

This award was given for the self-evaluations of current menus reflecting a wide variety of colorful menu choices, including fresh fruits and vegetables, a mix and cold and hot entrees, as well as other healthy menu planning techniques. Menus and evaluations were reviewed by the IDOE School and Summer Field Specialists and the winners were then announced.

“We are very proud of the ladies in the cafeteria and they never get enough recognition. We love receiving the academic awards from the state, but this is a great way to recognize another group in our school that works hard every day for our students,” said President Phil Kahn.
