Grant Received by the Scott County Sheriff’s Office in the Fight Against Cyber and Internet Crime

Cracking down on cyber crimes

                                   

Scott County-The Scott County Sheriff's Office is proud to announce a grant has been awarded to the Sheriff’s Office from “Operation Underground Railroad”, a 501c3 non-profit organization, to purchase an industry leader phone forensic tool - GrayKey. The $14,170.25 grant will enable the Sheriff's Office to lead the way with cutting-edge technology in cracking down on cyber crimes and internet crimes against children-related offenses. With this in-house capability, the Sheriff's Office will be able to swiftly investigate cyber and internet crimes against potential victims within Scott County.

"We are grateful for the support of Operation Underground Railroad and their commitment to helping in the fight against cyber-criminals," said Sheriff Jerry Goodin. "The GrayKey tool will greatly enhance our ability to gather evidence and solve cases more efficiently. These types of private grants are a testimony to the hard work and dedication of our deputies, establishing the Scott County Sheriff’s Office as one of the premiere law enforcement agencies in Indiana."

The Scott County Sheriff's Office is dedicated to protecting the residents of Scott County and bringing criminals to justice who prey upon others. With the support of Operation Underground Railroad, the Sheriff's Office will be better equipped to fight cybercrimes and bring peace of mind to the residents of Scott County.
