Gov. Beshear Updated Kentuckians On CDC Eviction Prevention

The CDC has extended its moratorium on evictions through January 31, 2021.

(Frankfort, Ky.) – During Tuesday’s media briefing Governor Andy Beshear announced that the CDC has extended its moratorium on evictions through January 31, 2021.

Gov. Beshear renewed a previous executive order that mandates the CDC moratorium to apply in Kentucky. The CDC and the Governor require a tenant declaration and CDC order.

It was also announced that the new federal COVID-19 relief bill has designated $297 million for Kentucky rental assistance. These funds can be used for past due rent, future rent payments, as well as to pay utility and energy bills, and prevent shutoffs.
