Gov. Beshear Orders Flags to Half-Staff on July 22

This is in honor of a Kentucky native who died while on active duty with the U.S. Air Force.

FRANKFORT, Ky. (July 19, 2024) – Gov. Andy Beshear has ordered flags at all state buildings lowered to half-staff from sunrise to sunset Monday, July 22, 2024, in honor of a Kentucky native who died while on active duty with the U.S. Air Force.

Tech. Sgt. Andrew Hemsath died July 5 while assigned to the 355th Fighter Generation Squadron, Eielson Air Force Base, Alaska.

Hemsath’s family will honor his life at a private service and burial on Monday.
