Gillette Razor Recall 2019: Venus Razors Recalled For Possible Cut Injuries

Close to 90,000

The Gillette Company, LLC has recalled its Venus Simply3 disposable razors because they pose a higher risk of cuts than normal. The recall affects 87,000 units sold in the U.S. and another 2,700 razors sold in Canada.

The recall was issued because the razors have a misalignment of the blades that occurred during a manufacturing issue. Gillette has received one report of injury from the recalled razor.

The razors were sold in pink, purple, and yellow colors. They were packaged as either Venus Simply3 Disposable Razors 4-pack with lot numbers 9003A17400 and 9007A17400 and a UPC code of 047400315358 or as the Daisy 12+1 Venus Simply3 Bonus Pack, which has a free Venus Simply3 razor included, with a lot code of 9009A17400 and a UPC code of 047400300712.

The ten-digit lot code is located on the right or left side of the plastic package while the UPC code can be found inside the package adjacent to the bar code.

Labels of the recalled razors can be viewed here

The recalled Venus razors were sold at food, drug, and mass merchandise stores nationwide from January 2019 to May 2019. The cost of the razor was $6 to $10. They were manufactured in Mexico.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled razors. They should contact Gillette to receive a postage-paid return label to return the razors and receive a voucher for a replacement.

Questions about the recall can be directed to Gillette at 1-800-362-1258, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. ET and Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET. More information can also be found at www.gillettevenus.com by clicking on the Safety Notifications link.
