Update: Four Dead Following House Fire On Telegraph Hill Rd

Update

The four people who were found deceased in a burning home on Tuesday evening have been identified.

35 yo Naomi Briner, and her three children were located at their Telegraph Hill Road home.

According to Indiana State Police, all four of the deceased had injuries consistent with gunshot wounds.

The investigation is ongoing. However, investigators do not believe that there is a threat to the public.

Detectives with the Indiana State Police-Versailles Post are conducting a death investigation after the bodies of four individuals were found inside a burning residence on Telegraph Hill Road, just outside of Madison in rural Jefferson County, Indiana.

The preliminary investigation indicates that first responders responded to an address in the 1600 Block of East Telegraph Hill Road shortly after 4:00 pm on Tuesday, December 12th, 2023.  When emergency personnel arrived at the residence, they found the home to be on fire.  Upon entering the residence, fire department personnel located the bodies of four individuals in the residence.  Despite life saving measures, all four of the individuals were pronounced deceased at the scene.  The fire was extinguished, and investigators were called to the scene. 

At this time, the identities of the deceased individuals are not being released until proper identification can be made by the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office.  Autopsies are scheduled to be performed in Hamilton County, Ohio to determine the cause and manner of death. 

The Indiana State Police is working with the Indiana State Fire Marshal’s Office, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, Jefferson County Prosecutor’s Office, and Jefferson County Coroner’s Office to investigate this incident.
