Four Arrested in Hanover on Drug Charges

All four face a various number of charges and all are presumed innocent until proven guilty

                                    

August 19, 2022, Madison Police with the assistance of the Hanover Police Department executed a narcotic search warrant on a N. Sycamore Street residence in Hanover.  The warrant was obtained as the result of a several months long narcotic investigation led by Madison Police Detective's Kyle Cutshaw, Shawn Scudder, Ricky Harris, and Patrol Officer Cameron Blankenship.  

During the execution of the warrant, Officers seized methamphetamine and paraphernalia associated with the use of drugs. An infant child was present when the warrant was executed, which led to additional and enhanced charges.

The following were arrested at the scene for the following stated charges;

Amanda L. Burgess, 28, Hanover, Indiana, possession of methamphetamine L-5 felony, maintaining a common nuisance L-6 felony, neglect of a dependent L-6 felony and possession of paraphernalia class A misdemeanor.  

Liberty L. Johnson, 20, Hanover, Indiana, possession of methamphetamine L-5 felony, neglect of a dependent L-6 felony, resisting law enforcement class A misdemeanor, visiting a common nuisance, class B misdemeanor, possession of paraphernalia class c misdemeanor.  

Justin R. Oliver, 29, Madison, Indiana, possession of methamphetamine L-5 felony, resisting law enforcement class A misdemeanor, visiting a common nuisance class B misdemeanor possession of paraphernalia class C misdemeanor.

Later on  August 19, 2022, Marcus B. Burgess, 38, Hanover, Indiana, an occupant of the N. Sycamore Street, residence was taken into custody.  Marcus Burgess faces preliminary alleged charges of - possession of methamphetamine L-5 felony, maintaining a common nuisance L-6 felony, neglect of a dependent L-6 felony, possession of paraphernalia class A misdemeanor.  

Amanda Burgess, Liberty Johnson, Justin Oliver, and Marcus Burgess have the presumption of innocence until otherwise proven guilty.  Deputy Kevin Fry also assisted with the arrest.
