Former Childcare Provider Charged with Recklessness Following Battery Investigation

(Salem, Ind.) – A former Southern Indiana childcare provider has been charged with recklessness in a battery investigation that started in December of last year.

Regina M. Sabens, 49, of Salem, was charged with Reckless Supervision by a Child Care Provider, which is a Class A Misdemeanor after Indiana State Police Detective Travis Baker forwarded his investigation to the Washington County Prosecutors Office.

Indiana State Police in Sellersburg was contacted by the Salem Police Department to assist in the possible battery case involving Sabens and a two-year-old child who was in her care at the Learning Center Preschool and Childcare located on East Hackberry Street in Salem.

After conducting the investigation, all information was provided to the Washington County Prosecutor, resulting in the recklessness charge on Wednesday of this week.
