Fish And Wildlife: Credible Mountain Lion Reports In Jefferson County, KY

Lions, tigers and bears Oh my

Wildlife managers in Frankfort are asking folks in Jefferson County, KY to be on the lookout for a possible mountain lion.

The state's Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources yesterday said it has seen two credible but unconfirmed reports of a large cat near Anchorage in Jefferson County.  The department says two Louisville animal control officers made a report, and a homeowner snapped a picture of a large cat.

Biologists for the state say the cat in the picture is too small to be a mountain lion, but is certainly too big to be a house cat.
