First of Five Defendants in Dupont Shooting Arraigned

Suspect in Deadly Shooting in Dupont

On Friday the first of the five defendants in the shooting the deadly shooting in Dupont was arraigned in Jefferson Circuit Court, Jason Brewer 35 of North Vernon is being charged with Murder a Level 1 felony, Attempted Murder,Attempted Robbery and Attempted Burglary, all Level 2 felonies and Obstruction of Justice, a Level 6 felony, plus a Criminal Gang Enhancement that could add more to his prison time if convicted. A not guilty plea was entered on his behalf and he was ordered to be held without bail until trial. Brewer is scheduled back in court on Sept 15 for pretrial conference and jury trial scheduled for Sept 28. He is currently lodged in the Jefferson County Jail, He is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
