(undated) – The FBI is warning the public about scams that are related to the 2020 election.

The agency said that scammers are posing as legitimate election resources, using fake email addresses and websites to trick people into clicking on the links. These links could expose people’s sensitive information or infect their computers with malware according to the FBI.

The FBI urges people to check web addresses because scammers will often use .com instead of .gov or even misspell words.

The agency also urges people to avoid disclosing personal information and to refrain from opening emails from someone you do not know.
