UPDATE : Victims Identified in Fatal House Fire in Downtown Carrollton

 UPDATE: The Carroll County Coroner has identified two adults, a teenager and a child, Jessica Sellers, 42 and her children — Coleton Sellers, 18; Deacon Sellers, 10; and Emilee Boswell, 25, died after a fire broke out at a house in the 200 block of 5th Street on Thursday, Oct. 17

As of this afternoon all four victims of this terrible event have been located and all recovery efforts have been discontinued. The victims will be identified by the State Medical Examiners Office and no names are being released at this time.

The three year old child continues to improve at an area hospital and hopefully I can update as to when the child will be released from care.

The Carrollton Police Department would like to thank everyone that played a role in the recovery or assisted those that were involved in the recovery. We are proud of this community and its ability to pull together during the worst of circumstances.

UPDATE 9:40 am 

Recovery efforts are continuing this morning at the scene of yesterdays structure fire at 209 5th Street. As of this morning two victims have been located within the structure.

Recovery efforts will continue to methodically search the structure for any remaining victims.

The Carrollton Police Department has been assisted on scene by The Carrollton Fire Department, Carroll County Emergency Management, The Kentucky State Police arson investigators, the state fire marshal's office and The Kentucky State Coroners Mass Casualty Unit.

ORIGINAL STORY 

At approximately 6am this morning the Carroll County Dispatch Center received a call of a structure fire at 209 5th Street in Carrollton. Upon Carrollton Police Department officer was able to extract an approximately 3 year old female from inside the back door of the residence.

It is possible at this time that the structure fire could possibly be a multiple fatality fire. Once the structure fire is extinguished investigators will be able to begin their search of the residence.

The Carrollton Police Department will be leading the investigation assisted by the Kentucky State Police Arson investigation unit and the State Fire Marshal's Office.
