Driver of Stolen Truck Flees Deputies; Captured

Arrested thanks to a tip

A deputy with the Scott County Sheriff’s Office received information on the whereabouts of the alleged suspect in this case. An investigation led to the arrest of Justin Simpson, 31, of Nabb, Indiana for Robbery, Auto Theft, Resisting Law Enforcement by vehicle, Resisting Law Enforcement, Battery to a Public Official, Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Accident and Criminal Mischief.

Scott County-On July 30, 2019, in the evening hours, a deputy with the Scott County Sheriff’s Office clocked a vehicle on State Road # 3 in the Lexington area at a very high rate of speed. As the deputy turned to attempt to stop the vehicle, (a blue Dodge truck), it fled. The deputy pursued the vehicle, which turned out to be stolen out of Clark County. The stolen vehicle crashed off of Leslie Lane after it attempted to leave the roadway to allude the pursuing deputy. When the vehicle crashed, the driver fled on foot.

The driver, a white male, is still at large at this time.

A stolen mini-bike was also recovered from the bed of the stolen truck.
