Driver Miraculously Escapes US 31 Crash with Non-Life Threatening Injuries

(Seymour, Ind.) - The Indiana State Police continue to investigate a single vehicle crash that occurred this morning just before 7:00am on US 31 near County Road 1110 East in Jackson County.

The investigation by Trp. David Owsley indicated that a 2012 Kenworth truck, owned by Kroot Transport, being driven by Terry Marshall, age 62, Seymour, Indiana was traveling northbound on US 31.

For an unknown reason, the truck left the east side of the roadway. The vehicle traveled approximately 200 feet off the roadway before the vehicle struck an embankment.

Marshall was entrapped inside the vehicle for over an hour. After being freed from the vehicle, he was transported to an Indianapolis hospital for treatment of injuries believed to be non-life threatening.

The Indiana State Police was assisted by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department, Redding Township Fire Department, Seymour Fire Department, Jackson County EMS, Lifeline Medical Helicopter, and 31 Wrecker Service.
