Domestic Disturbance Leads To Vehicle Pursuit In Jennings Co.

(Jennings County, Ind.) – On February 2, deputies with the Jennings County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to Magnolia Place in the Country Squire Lakes Subdivision in reference to a Domestic Disturbance.

Deputies were advised that the male had left prior to their arrival.

While en route to the residence, a deputy located the vehicle that the male had left in and attempted to conduct a traffic stop. The male, later identified as 23-year-old Sean Vest of North Vernon, refused to stop and traveled back to his residence.

Once at the residence, deputies gave loud verbal commands for Vest to exit the vehicle and he failed to comply. Following a short standoff with Vest, Sergeant Allen Ritchie arrived on the scene. Deputies were then able to get the vehicle doo open and K-9 Vampir was deployed to assist in extracting Vest from the vehicle.

Vest was treated on scene for minor injuries and was then transported to St. Vincent Jennings. Vest was then transported to the Jennings County Jail on the alleged charges of:

  • Domestic Battery in the presence of a Minor- Level 6 Felony
  • Resisting Law Enforcement- Level 6 Felony
  • Resisting Law Enforcement- A Misdemeanor
  • Driving While Suspended-prior - A Misdemeanor
