(undated) - Indiana Department of Natural Resources announced yesterday that they will be keeping all swimming pools closed for the summer.

DNR stated that the pools will remain closed due to the confined space on the pool decks there is not enough room for social distancing.

Locations of closed pools around the area include Clifty Falls, Versailles, Brown County.

Even with closed pools, there are many other places at DNR properties across the state to visit that allow for social distancing, such as lake beaches.

Those who have an interest in water-based recreation can also rent kayaks, canoes, and paddleboats to keep cool while enjoying the summer sun.

DNR also announced that rentable picnic shelters, recreation buildings, and rally camps are tentatively scheduled to open on June 1 for groups of 100 or fewer, with social distancing.

Property offices have reopened to members of the public who want to purchase passes, permits, and fishing licenses.
