(Madison, Ind.) – The Community Foundation of Madison and Jefferson County has awarded over $37,000 to nonprofit organizations through the Rapid Response Grant Program.
These grants were designed to address the immediate need of the nonprofit organizations serving the county, have provided care packages, rent assistance provided personal protection equipment, and covered the basic needs of Jefferson County residents.
Organizations in the community who received these grants include:
- Big Brothers/ Big Sisters
- King’s Daughters’ Health
- Ivy Tech Community College
- Lide White Boys and Girls Club
- Madison Main Street Program
- The Salvation Army
- Safe Passage
- Southeastern Indiana Voices for Children, Inc.
- Southwestern Jefferson County School Corp.
The grants for the Rapid Response Grant Program are funded by the Disaster Relief Fund at the Community Foundation. The simple online application for the Rapid Response Grant Program is currently open, details can be found here.
Eligible nonprofit organizations may apply for up to $5,000 to address immediate needs related to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Grants will not be made directly to individuals.
The Community Foundation understands these are challenging economic times, and for those who are able donations to the Disaster Relief Fund can be made by mail or online.
If writing a check, indicate in the memo line “COVID-19.” Donations may be mailed to P.O. Box 306, Madison, IN 47250.
If donating online, type “COVID-19” in the “Fund you are donating to” field. Online donations can be made here.
