Closure to move east on S.R. 250 in Switzerland County

Bridge over Indian Creek expected to reopen next week

SWITZERLAND COUNTY, Ind. Indiana Department of Transportation contractor Milestone Contractors LP plans to begin work in early August to replace a small structure on S.R. 250 in Switzerland County. State Road 250 will close six miles east of the current closure at Indian Creek, which is expected to be removed early next week following a rehabilitation project.

The new closure is scheduled to begin on or after Wednesday, August 2. The road will close for up to 30 days between Phillips Rd. and Allensville/Lake Geneva Rd. near East Enterprise. Motorists will be routed along the official detour, which follows S.R. 129 and S.R. 56.

The $1.8 million contract was awarded to Milestone in December and includes an additional small structure project located approximately 4.6 miles east of S.R. 129. INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, use caution and consider worker safety when traveling in and near active construction zones. All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.
