(Madison, Ind) - Clifty Falls State Park is offering firewood this winter due to some fallen trees at the park.
The public is invited to cut certain downed trees that will be located in the pool parking lot.
The cost of one pickup-truck load of firewood is $10, horse trailers or anything over 8 feet in length is not permitted.
In order to begin woodcutting, you must first pick up your firewood permit at the park office which is open 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Woodcutting is allowed from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
All proceeds from firewood permit sales will be used for resource management and restoration efforts, including the replacement of trees in the campgrounds and other public areas.
Firewood from Clifty Falls State Park is for personal use only and cannot be sold.
