(Indianapolis, Ind.) – The New Year brings new hope, and many resolutions.
The Indiana Department of Natural Resources is inviting you to join your local state parks, reservoirs, or state forest for a First Day Hike.
First Day Hikes are healthy ways to start the new year and provide a chance to get outside, exercise, and enjoy nature. In years past, Indiana state parks, reservoirs, and state forests have offered organized hikes led by park staff and volunteers. These hikes have become a tradition for thousands of Hoosiers.
Clifty Falls will be participating in this year's self lead First Day Hike. Hikers can pick up a free First Day Hike sticker located just outside of the park office and then choose their favorite trail.
Each trailhead will feature a “resolution sign” for hikers to consider throughout 2021.
Hikers can also snap a photo of themselves with the sign and share their photos on the Clifty Falls State Park Facebook, or the Indiana State Parks Facebook page and use the #FirstDayHikeIN, #FindYourResolution, or #IHikedTheFirstDay.
Clifty Falls stated that you may also be drawn to win a park pass, inn and camping gift card, and more.
