Wednesday Night City of Madison Officials met with the residents whom live along Main Street between Broadway and far WestEnd residents to talk about the Main Street Paving Project and new roadway lanes that will be put into place in October.

Officials stated that the section of roadway west of Broadway is apporiate for Road Diet which will improve safety along the roadway.

There will be No Angle Parking

Width of the lanes will be bigger by adding the lane

Some residents had issues with the current situation about the traffic situation that continues to be a problem at Lydia Middleton School and Chief Wallace was present he stated that he is working with the administration about the situation.

Some residents were concerned with the traffic during events when held on the West End of town. Especially since chautauqua is always held on that end of town from starting at Broadway but to help the traffic flow on Main starting this year Pick-Up and Drop-Off will now occur at Second and Broadway were the festival begins.

One year ago all Truck Traffic moved from Main Street to use bypass to avoid Downtown Corridor which has helped traffic flow greatly

The Paving Project is Scheduled to begin Stage 2 Starting Monday Aug 30 from 7 A.M until 7 P.M with the project progressing very rapidly

Residents can go the City of Madison website to find progress on the paving project the website sealcoatschedule.com
