Please remember, if you are feeling sick or exhibiting any signs of COVID-19, you should stay home and contact your healthcare provider for instructions.

(Madison, Ind.) - This evening, Tammy Courtney, BSN, MSN, and wife of Madison’s Mayor Bob Courtney, learned that she has tested positive for COVID-19.  Mayor Bob Courtney has tested negative and is experiencing no symptoms. Following CDC protocols for those who feel healthy but have been in close contact with someone with COVID-19, Mayor Courtney will self-quarantine at his home for 14 days and continue to monitor his health accordingly.

“The safety of our community is important to my team at City Hall and me. I will continue to work from home during this time and plan to self-monitor for symptoms. I appreciate all the efforts being made by city employees to continue to provide essential city services to the residents of Madison. This is a further reminder of the risk the virus presents, especially to our healthcare providers like Tammy, who is an intensive care nurse,” said Mayor Courtney.

At this time, no other city employees have been notified of exposure. The city continually evaluates the protocols in place as set forth by the CDC, Governor Eric Holcomb, and the Jefferson County Health Department to best protect the health and safety of employees and the community.

Please remember, if you are feeling sick or exhibiting any signs of COVID-19, you should stay home and contact your healthcare provider for instructions.
