Madison, Indiana (January 8, 2025)  Mayor Bob Courtney has announced that the City of Madison’s Parks and Recreation Department is undergoing a leadership transition. The position of Parks Director will be filled by a new appointee as the City begins the search for the next leader to guide the department.

“Our parks and recreational programs are essential to the health, well-being, and quality of life of our residents, and we remain dedicated to delivering exceptional experiences for all who use our facilities and participate in our programming,” said Mayor Bob Courtney.

During this transition period, all parks services, including recreational programs, facility rentals, and ongoing projects, will continue without interruption. The City’s leadership team is working closely with Parks Department staff to ensure smooth operations and continuity of service. We are already planning for the opening of our major parks facilities such as Sunrise Golf Course, Riverview Campground, Crystal Beach Aquatic Park, and Rucker Sports Complex. Additionally, active programming is constantly underway at the Senior Center and Brown Gym.
