Alleged child abuse involving two children
On August 19, 2019, Detective Jacklyn Shofner received information from the Department of Child Services in reference to alleged child abuse involving two children, age four and age seven. The alleged abuses consisted of physical abuse with no medical attention, confinement and food depravation. Both children were removed from the home by the Department of Child Services and medically evaluated.
After the investigation was completed it was turned into the Scott County Prosecutor’s Office, who then applied for arrest warrants.
Yesterday evening, the Scott County Sheriff’s Office, with the assistance of the Seymour Police Department, arrested Matthew Mosier, 37, of Scottsburg. Hannah Graves, 28, of Austin was located and arrested in Austin. Both were incarcerated at the Scott County Jail.
Mosier was charged with the following:
AGGRAVATED BATTERY - BODILY INJURY; CREATES SUBSTANTIAL RISK OF DEATH
BATTERY-RESULTS IN SERIOUS BODILY INJURY TO PERSON
BATTERY-COMMITTED WITH DEADLY WEAPON
CRIMINAL CONFINEMENT - RESULTS IN BODILY INJURY
CRIMINAL CONFINEMENT - PERSON CONFINED LESS THAN 14
BATTERY - RESULTS IN DEATH TO PERSON LESS THAN 14 COMMITTED BY PERSON AT LEAST 18
BATTERY-RESULTS IN SBI TO PERSON LESS THAN 14 COMMITTED BY PERSON AT LEAST 18
BATTERY-PERSON LESS THAN 14 COMMITTED BY PERSON AT LEAST 18

BATTERY-PERSON LESS THAN 14 COMMITTED BY PERSON AT LEAST 18
BATTERY-PERSON LESS THAN 14 COMMITTED BY PERSON AT LEAST 18
