Chamber Executive Resigns, Accepts Position at Indianapolis-Based Firm

The Executive Director provides leadership, strategic direction, vision, and management for the programs and personnel of the Madison Area Chamber of Commerce.

(Madison, Ind.) - The Madison Area Chamber of Commerce announced today that they have accepted the resignation of Executive Director, Lindsay Bloos. Bloos has worked for the Chamber for seven years, serving the last four in the role of Executive Director. She has accepted the position of Senior Consultant, Economic Development & Community Resiliency Business Development at Thomas P. Miller & Associates.

“It has been a tremendous honor to be a part of this Chamber team. I am incredibly grateful for the opportunities this position has afforded me,” said Bloos. “More than anything, I am thankful for the invaluable relationships I have developed with Chamber members, board members, ambassadors, community leaders, elected officials, and Chamber staff.”

Bloos said she feels that Madison will soon see the benefits from projects which have been in the works. “Madison is primed to accomplish some big goals and push forward with other initiatives that we’ve been planning like the diversity initiative focused on attracting and welcoming new residents to our community. Things are really starting to take off, and it would be a lot of fun to be part of that.”

“Lindsay has been a great asset to the Chamber over the past seven years,” said Daniel Butler, Board President. “While we are sad to see her leave, we are thankful for the foundation she has built and wish her success in her future endeavors.” Butler expressed his confidence in the strength of the Chamber and its resilience to continue to provide member services and support through this transition. Erik Bush, Office Manager, and Cassey Higdon, Member Services Specialist will continue to handle day-to-day operations until a replacement is named.

During her tenure, Bloos led several initiatives including implementation of a new membership management system (2014) which gave members access to an online information center and a host of new member benefits like posting jobs, events, deals, news, and more to the Chamber’s website and social media channels. Bloos was also the driving force behind the creation of the Women in Business event (2015), two website redesigns (2016 & 2020), a tiered dues system (2017), Madison’s Best (2018), the Guide to the Madison Indiana Area (2018) relocation-focused magazine, Politics and Swizzle Sticks (2019), Chamber Cash Mobs (2019), a new local community digital gift card program (2020). In addition, Soup Stew Chili & Brew saw a 117% increase in growth during her time at the Chamber.

Bloos was instrumental in COVID-19 business resource communication, collaborating with local leaders, and publishing a single-source platform for local businesses. This resource continues to provide businesses and community members with local, state, and federal information. The Madison Area Chamber of Commerce is launching a search for a new Executive Director. The search committee will work with the Indiana Chamber Executives Association to collect and review resumes, interview candidates, and provide the board with a recommendation.

The Executive Director provides leadership, strategic direction, vision, and management for the programs and personnel of the Madison Area Chamber of Commerce.
