Carrollton Camp Site Set to Reopen May 21

(Carroll County, Ky.) - With things beginning to reopen in stages to help with slowing the spread of the coronavirus, Carrollton Mayor Robb Adams took to Facebook live Monday to discuss the reopening of much-anticipitated areas in the city. 

Beginning yesterday, drive-in access to Point Park was available, at this time the playgrounds, skate parks, basketball and volleyball courts, as well as the splash park, and pavilions are going to remain closed until restrictions are lifted by Governor Beshear. Residents are now able to drive into the park and use the boat ramps. 

There are currently not any boat ramps at the park, the newly purchased boat docks will be installed when they delivered.  

Mayor Adams also announced that the Two Rivers campground will be reopening on Thursday, May 21. 

The campground will only be open to Kentucky residents as of right now. 

"At this time there are still some hot states around, and we do not want to take chances," said Mayor Adams. 

Those who plan on visiting the campground should note that the bathhouses, and playground equipment. It is also asked that you remain on your own campsite and do not visit with those around you. 

Reservations for the campsites began yesterday May 12.

Mayor Adams also gave updates on the July 4 fireworks which will be held now on September 5. The fair has also been rescheduled for August 17-22. 

"With things reopening all I ask is to please be patient with people, and follow the guidelines that are set by the places that you attend," said Mayor Adams. "This virus is still here and still real, and affects everyone, so patience is something that is needed."
