(Carroll County, Ky.) – Carroll County School District released their re-entry plan yesterday, and like many schools around the area, the school is giving families the option to choose between traditional and virtual learning.
This plan was created by the re-entry task force who utilized external resources such as “The Guidance on Safety Expectations and Best Practices for Kentucky Schools,” which was developed jointly by the Kentucky Department of Education, the Department for Public Health, and other groups.
For families who choose traditional learning, there have been many health and safety guidelines put into place.
The school stated that everyone who enters the building will be required to wear masks. This includes first grade and up with the exemption of medical reasons.
Classrooms will be arranged with social distancing in mind, and there will be increased cleaning protocols in all areas of the schools and buses with an emphasis on high-touch areas.
When boarding buses temperatures will be checked, wearing a mask on the bus will be expected for students, and students will be encouraged to sit with their family groups and will have assigned seating.
All buses will be disinfected after each route.
For families who chose virtual learning, each school will be contacting families to provide additional details on these options as well as to answer questions that families may have.
In order to properly prepare for the school year, the school hopes to have all families select an attendance option by August 1.
The first student day will be on Wednesday, August 26.
