(Carroll County, Ky.) - Yesterday, Governor Andy Beshear announced that all Kentucky schools are to remain closed for the remainder of the school year.
This means Carroll County School District will continue with its non-traditional instruction days until May 22, which is the last day of school for the district. With this announcement, all extracurricular activities are canceled for the duration of the school year as well.
“While I am beyond disappointed by these circumstances, I am so proud of how our students have handled themselves this year,” said Superintendent Danny Osborne. “Life is about change, and our students have handled change, unlike anything we have seen before.”
The district will continue to serve meals through May 22 at both Carroll County Middle School and Carroll County High School under the current schedule of Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
The district is also working on a plan to extend meal service into the summer, they will be releasing more information on this later.
School will return on August 12 for the 2020-2021 school year.
