Carroll Co. School District Implements New Safety Protocols As School Is Set To Begin

This is to ensure that all students and staff work and learn in a safe and healthy environment.

(Carrollton, Ky.) – Carroll County students are one week away from returning to school for in-person classes.

With the return to school, the school is implementing new protocols to ensure the safety and health of students and staff for when the school doors open on October 12.

First and foremost, if your student(s) are experiencing any of the following symptoms, they should not attend school:

  • Fever or chills
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • Fatigue, Muscle or body aches
  • Headache
  • New loss of taste or smell
  • Sore throat
  • Congestion or runny nose
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Diarrhea

When getting onto the bus in the mornings, and before walking into school all students will have their temperatures taken. Any student who has a temperature of 100.4 or higher will not be allowed to ride the bus or enter the school building.

While in the school buildings or on the bus, all students and staff will be expected to wear masks at all times. Individual schools will schedule periodic mask breaks throughout the day.

Any student who refuses to wear a mask, after three reminders, will be assigned to virtual school for the remainder of the school year. This is to ensure that all students and staff work and learn in a safe and healthy environment.

Unless there is a medically documented condition, masks must be worn by all students and staff.

If you have any questions you can contact the school at (502) 732-7070.
