Student pulled a knife during a consultation with the student’s parent and teachers
Carroll County High School was on lockdown for a period of time today after a student pulled a knife during a consultation with the student’s parent and teachers. No other students were in the room when the student drew the knife, which was part of cooking/home economics equipment. School Resource Officer Benny Johnson responded and restrained the student, and the school was placed on lockdown.
“CCHS was placed on lockdown out of an abundance of caution,” said Superintendent Danny Osborne. “Our staff responded to this situation as quickly as possible, and we are thankful for SRO Johnson and other law enforcement officials who responded.”
The student was removed from the building, and the school is now on its normal schedule.
