BURN BAN ISSUED IN JEFFERSON COUNTY

IN EFFECT UNTIL SUNDAY MORNING

                                     

Jefferson County ALERT ... Jefferson County Commissioners issue 48hr County Wide Burn Ban. No open burning permitted. The ban expires 10/16/22 @ 0700 unless extended or rescinded.

Based on data from the National Weather Service in Louisville Kentucky and the U.S. Department of Agriculture and in consultation with and recommendation(s) from the county fire chief's and emergency management the Burn Ban as issued.

The NWS issued a Red Flag Warning this morning. A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now or will shortly. Strong and gusty west to northwest winds, critically low relative humidity and drawing fuel conditions will promote rapidfire growth. Any fire that starts could quickly spread out of control.
