Expected to be completed by late fall
JEFFERSON/JENNINGS COUNTY, Ind. – Indiana Department of Transportation contractor E&B Paving, Inc. plans to begin work next week on two bridge deck overlay projects that includes structures on State Road 7 in Jefferson and Jennings Counties. Drivers can expect lane closures, speed reductions, and width restrictions while work is in progress.
S.R. 7 over Big Creek – Jefferson County
On or after Monday, April 17 the S.R. 7 bridge over Big Creek will be reduced to one lane to allow crews to complete a deck overlay project. Temporary traffic signals will control traffic. The bridge is located 3.66 miles north of S.R. 250, south of Dupont in Jefferson County. Motorists should watch for stopped traffic as they approach the bridge.
S.R. 7 over Big Graham Creek – Jennings County
On or after Monday, April 17 the S.R. 7 bridge over Big Graham Creek will be reduced to one lane to allow crews to complete a deck overlay project. Temporary traffic signals will control traffic. The bridge is located 4.47 miles south of S.R. 3, south of Vernon in Jennings County. Motorists should watch for stopped traffic as they approach the bridge.
The contract was awarded to E&B Paving, Inc. for $1.6 million in December. All work is expected to be complete by late fall. INDOT encourages drivers to consider worker safety by slowing down, using extra caution and driving distraction-free when travelling in and around all work zones.
