Bevin pardoned five people convicted of murder before he left office

So many Secretary of State's website could not keep up

Five people convicted of murder are among the dozens pardoned by former Governor Matt Bevin during his final hours in office. 

Patrick Baker was convicted in 2017 in connection with a deadly robbery in Knox County.  Daniel Grubb was convicted in 2010 of a murder following an argument.  Brett Whittaker was convicted in 2011 of two murders, while Blake Patterson was convicted in 2002 of murdering his parents.  Kurt Smith was also convicted of murder in 2002 in the death of his six-week-old son. 

The pardons for the five men were filed with the Secretary of State's Office yesterday.

Governor Bevin pardoned so many people the Secretary of State's website can't keep up.
