(Seymour, Ind.) - This week, on Tuesday, February 16, 2021, the Indiana State Police arrested three men on numerous drug-related charges after responding to a call of a fight in progress.

The investigation began on Tuesday afternoon when troopers responded to a report of a fight in progress at a church on US 50 near County Avenue, just east of Seymour, Indiana.  A caller had reported two men were fighting outside of a vehicle in the parking lot.  The two men then entered the vehicle and a witness saw the vehicle go to a nearby apartment complex on County Avenue.

Troopers from the Indiana State Police-Versailles Post arrived and located the vehicle.  They found evidence that an injured person went from the vehicle into a nearby apartment.  The troopers made contact with the occupants inside the apartment and located the two men who had been in the altercation.  Evidence of illegal drug activity was also discovered.

A search warrant was then obtained for the apartment.  During a search of the apartment, troopers located nearly 100 grams of methamphetamine, marijuana, over $10,000 in US Currency, two handguns, and other evidence of dealing methamphetamine and marijuana.

Three of the occupants of the apartment were arrested on numerous drug-related charges.  Victor M. Vazquez-Hernandez, age 37, and Emilio I. Landa-Lagunes, age 23, were both arrested on charges of Dealing Methamphetamine, Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Marijuana, and Maintaining a Common Nuisance.  Israel J. Jimenez-Santiago, age 32, was arrested on charges of Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Marijuana, Visiting a Common Nuisance, and a warrant for Failure to Appear.

All three men were transported to the Jackson County Jail where they were incarcerated pending their initial appearance in the Jackson County Circuit Court.
