Bartholomew County Courthouse Banning Cell Phones And Other Recording Equipment

As of January 1st, 2020

Beginning January 1, 2020, neither cell phones, nor any other type of audio or video recording equipment or device, will be permitted in the Bartholomew County Courthouse, with the following exceptions:

Court staff,
Bartholomew County Prosecutor's staff,
Bartholomew County Clerk’s staff,
Bartholomew County Court Services,
Law enforcement officers,
Department of Child Services staff
Attorneys admitted to the Indiana Bar

Notice of Proposed Local Rule and Finding

The judges of the Bartholomew Circuit and Superior Courts, pursuant to Trial Rule 81(B), give notice of proposed revised local court rule
CELL PHONES AND AUDIO OR VIDEO RECORDING DEVICES, and find good cause to deviate from the schedule for adopting local rules under Trial Rule 81(D).

Notice is given to the public by posting on the website of the Bartholomew County Clerk and on the Indiana Judicial Website, and by furnishing a copy to the officers of the Bartholomew County Bar Association.
