Aurora Man Arrested on Multiple Counts of Child Exploitation

Five Month Investigation Led To Arrest

                                    

Aurora-On Tuesday, December 13, 2022, a Dearborn County, Indiana man was arrested on multiple counts of child exploitation following a five-month investigation by detectives with the Indiana State Police-Indiana Crimes Against Children Task Force.

The investigation began in June 2022 when the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children submitted a cybertip to the Indiana Crimes Against Children Task Force.  The tip indicated that an individual in Aurora, Indiana had received and transmitted images depicting child pornography.

During the investigation, a suspect was identified as David A. McDaniel, age 38, Aurora, Indiana.  A search warrant was obtained and served at McDaniel’s residence on December 13, 2022.  After the warrant was served and McDaniel was located, McDaniel was arrested on four level five felony counts of Child Exploitation/Possession of Child Pornography.

McDaniel was transported to the Dearborn County Jail where he was incarcerated pending an initial appearance in court.  The investigation is ongoing.   

The Indiana Crimes Against Children Task Force Detectives were assisted by Troopers from the Indiana State Police-Versailles Post.
