Another Drug Dealer Off the Streets: Madison Man sentenced to 20 years in meth case

Jefferson County, Indiana (February 2, 2022) - Jefferson County Prosecutor David R. Sutter announced a Madison man has been sentenced to 20 years, to be fully executed, to the Indiana Dept. of Correction on a methamphetamine charge. Michael “Mike” D. Walker, 56, entered a guilty plea to a Level 2 felony charge of dealing in methamphetamine. He was sentenced Feb. 1, 2022, in Jefferson Circuit Court. “Every time we can remove a drug dealer from our streets it puts a dent into drug activity,” said Prosecutor Sutter. “I commend our law enforcement community for their tireless efforts to bring drug dealers to justice.” According to the probable cause affidavit, Walker’s current conviction resulted from drug activity in October 2020. Walker was arrested after dealing methamphetamine from his Lincoln Street apartment. The crime was committed less than 500 feet from an elementary school. Walker’s arrest record dates to 2004 and includes a methamphetamine conviction in 2008 and two meth convictions in 2015, including a prior conviction for dealing.
