An Investigaton in Scott County into Suspicious Activity involving Prostitution Solicitation Scheme.

Involving numerous Female Inmates from Scott County Jail

Scott County-On 8-30-2023, Deputy/Detective Donovan McCutcheon of the Scott County Sheriff's Office concluded an investigation that involved the Sheriff's Office and the Scott County Prosecutor's Office where multiple female inmates were being bonded out of the local jail by the same male individual. The investigation lasted several months, involving Scott County Jail Deputies, Scott County Prosecutor's Office Investigator Isaac Comer, and Deputy McCutcheon. After numerous interviews and other investigative steps, criminal charges were requested through the Scott County Prosecutor's Office for the following...Carl A. Wagner, 58, of Crothersville, Indiana, for Patronizing a Prostitute, Robin L. English, 23, of Hope, Indiana for Prostitution, Brittany D. Hormann, 35, of Lexington, Indiana for Prostitution, Kayla R. Marling, 30, of Scottsburg, Indiana for Prostitution, and Christy A. Kamman, 43, of Scottsburg, Indiana for Prostitution, Trafficking with an Inmate, and a drug-related charge. All have been arrested and subsequently booked into the Scott County Jail.

NOTE: Prostitution, or "the intent" to commit a sexual act for money, property, or tangible items, is illegal. In this instance, female inmates who had no financial means to pay a bond, were being exploited for alleged sexual favors in return for getting bonded out of jail. Unfortunately, this is a nationwide problem and a difficult case to make.  This case, once again, was made because of the hard work of Deputies, Jail Deputies, and the outstanding teamwork with the Prosecutor's Office in Scott County.

Special thanks are extended to Prosecutor Chris Owens, Investigator Comer, and the Scott County Jail Staff for their assistance and partnership with this investigation.
