Indiana State Police Sgt. Stephen Wheeles has reported that the victim involved in the shooting was transported to a Cincinnati hospital for treatment of injuries. 

The condition of the victim has not been released.

According to Ohio County Sheriff Department, the "shooter" is still on the loose and may have potentially left Ohio County, though it is not being publicized, at this time, what direction he is believed to be traveling in or whether he is on foot or in a vehicle.

The suspect is described as a white male, slender build, with darker hair and multiple tattoos on his neck and hands.

If you see someone fitting this description call the Ohio County Sheriff Department immediately at 812-438-3636. DO NOT attempt to confront or approach this person, as they are considered armed and dangerous.

It has officially been disclosed that there was a shooting in Ohio County causing this police situation.

The suspect is at large.

Please be aware of your surroundings.

(Ohio Co., Ind.) - It has been reported that there is a police situation in Ohio County on State Route 262 that started around 6:20 this morning. 

Ohio County Dispatch could confirm there is an ongoing police situation, but did not give any further information. 

At this time, Rising Sun-Ohio County Schools have implemented a two-hour delay due to safety issues involving this situation.
