Hanover-Yesterday, at approximately 7:25 am, the Indiana State Police, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department, and Hanover Police Department responded to a two vehicle crash on State Road 56 near Hanover, Indiana that claimed the life of a Madison, Indiana man.
The initial investigation by Trp. Matt Holley, Indiana State Police-Versailles Crash Reconstruction Team, determined that a 2003 Honda van being driven by Miko D. McRoy, age 41, Seymour, Indiana was traveling eastbound on State Road 56 near Amber Waves Boulevard. McRoy’s vehicle struck a westbound 2010 Mazda passenger car head-on that was being driven by Dallas Jackson, age 22, Madison, Indiana. At this time, it is unclear which vehicle crossed the centerline first as the vehicles collided in the center of the roadway.
As a result of the collision, Jackson sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased by the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office. McRoy was transported to the University of Louisville Hospital for treatment of serious but non-life threatening injuries. A passenger in Jackson’s vehicle, Zachary Kelly, age 21, Lexington, IN was transported to the University of Louisville Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
At this time, the investigation is ongoing to determine which vehicle crossed the centerline. Toxicology results are pending on both drivers.

-UPDATE 7/31 Noon-
One person was killed and two others were seriously injured in a two vehicle accident at the intersection of SR 56 and Amber Waves Boulevard this morning around 7:30
The driver of one of the vehicles was pronounced dead at the scene while their passenger and the driver of the second vehicle suffered very serious injuries and were taken to a Louisville Hospital.
The identification of the driver who died has not been released or has the names of the injured.
State Road 56 was closed for several hours to reconstruct the accident.

A serious accident around 7:30 Tuesday morning closed SR 56 at Amber Waves just west of the 56/62 East Junction.
SR 56 was closed for several hours.
Jefferson Co. Sheriff's Department, Hanover Police, Madison and Hanover Fire Departments along with KDH personnel were called to the scene.
No word on the cause of the accident or injuries.
