Large quanity of drugs were found in the home
An investigation discovered that Marc Rossignol and other individuals were bringing large quantities of Methamphetamine into Jennings County for Distribution. As a result of the investigation, a Level 2 Felony Warrant was issued for Marc Rossignol for Dealing Methamphetamine.
On Monday June 5, 2023 Sgt. Thomas Mellencamp applied for and was granted a Jennings County Search Warrant for Mr. Rossignol's residence as a further result of the ongoing investigation.
As Deputies were on their way to serve the warrant, one of the suspects involved, Christopher Kurdys, of Madison, Indiana left the residence. Deputies knew that Mr. Kurdys had an active Felony arrest warrant. Sgt. Cody Low attempted to stop Mr. Kurdys, who then fled at a high rate of speed initiating a pursuit. Deputy John Amis successfully deployed a tire deflation device, however, Mr. Kurdys continued Southbound through North Vernon at a high rate of speed. Mr. Kurdys crashed into a pole on South State Street near the Sheriff's Office causing substantial damage. Mr. Kurdys suffered serious injuries and was flown to an Indianapolis area hospital where he is in stable condition. A large amount of illegal Narcotics and cash were located in Mr. Kurdys vehicle and Mr. Kurdys was a Habitual Traffic Violator.
At the same time as the pursuit, other Deputies went to Mr. Rossignol's residence and served the Search Warrant. At Mr. Rossignol's residence, Deputies located over 1 pound of Methamphetamine, more than $10,000 in cash, scales, packaging material, and a firearm. Mr. Rossignol is a serious violent felon and restricted from owning firearms. There were 2 children that were 3 months old present in the home during this incident.
Mr Kurdys will be taken into custody upon his release from the hospital and will face numerous charges.
Marc Rossignol was remanded to the Jennings County Jail on numerous charges.
