Hello 7th grade! Canaan Community Academy (CCA) is excited to welcome 7th graders this school year.

Canaan Community Academy is adding a 7th grade to the 2021-2022 school year and will be adding 8th grade to the 2022-23 school year. CCA has been planning this addition the past 3 years. Staff and curriculum is in place and ready to start the school year. Classrooms and a commons area are currently underway.

The commons area this year will have a Harry Potter theme. CCA focuses on the possibilities and encourages imagination and creativity just as the fictional series of Harry Potter. This quote “You’re a little scary sometimes, you know that? Brilliant but scary.”-Ron Weasley truly sums up middle school. Entering middle school can be a little scary-but Brilliant. CCA will make this transition easier with the compassionate staff that celebrates every student and works to equip students with skills to Explore~Experience~Excel during their school career and into adulthood.

Canaan Community Academy hopes you will join us for a “Brilliant” school year. CCA is committed to small classes with a STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, math) focus; offering hands-on, experiential learning. Where students learn by doing- providing students with opportunities to engage intellectually, creatively, emotionally, socially and physically. CCA students’ activities include multiple field trips, outdoor education (new “Landlab of Canaan'' funded by Jefferson County Community Foundation grant), collaborative group work in and out of school, plus exploration of employment opportunities. Canaan Community provides transportation to Canaan, Madison (downtown/hilltop) and Hanover. More great news! CCA will be providing transportation for extra-curricular activities; clubs, academic teams, and sports. Recent grant funding provided technology upgrades and the purchase of additional devices and equipment for our students. CCA students utilize technology as a tool with highly qualified staff that are Google Certified and in the process of becoming STEM Certified.

Staff and students work hard every day, have fun and most importantly encourage each other; creating confidence.

“Working hard is important, but there is something that matters even more:

Believing in yourself.” -Harry Potter Please visit our website www.canaancommunityacademy.org and click on the registration link to pre-register and reserve your student’s place, spaces are limited. Also, Thursday July 29th at 6:00 PM, we will have an informational meeting to provide additional information, answer questions, and hear your input on what you would like to see in a middle school. This is an opportunity to help us create the 7th & 8th grade program you would like to see.
