Fentanyl found in the bedroom that a three month old Child
On Saturday December 14th at approximately 2:45 a.m. Deputies with the Jennings County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a domestic disturbance in Geneva Twp. When Deputies arrived on scene, they made contact with a female who had sustained serious injuries from a battery. During the course of the investigation, Deputies learned the female victim had fled to a neighbor’s residence after the battery occurred and that her three month old child was still in the residence with the father and friends and they were possibly using drugs. The female was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
Deputies then went to the residence where the battery occurred on Gintshire Way to continue the investigation. Deputies made contact with the suspect in the battery, Ashdon Davis (24 of North Vernon) and four other occupants that were in the residence. During the investigation deputies observed drug paraphernalia in plain view. Deputy Garrett Hoppock then applied for a search warrant that was granted by the Jennings County Circuit Court.
A later search of the home uncovered Fentanyl in the bedroom that a three month old Child was located in, illegal drugs inside of the child’s diaper bag and illegal drugs throughout the home. The drugs located included a large amount of pills, approximately 300 grams of THC wax and drug paraphernalia. Jordan Mccarty (21 of North Vernon) was taken into custody.
The Department of Child Services was notified and came to the scene assisted deputies with the Child.

Both individuals have been bonded out of the Jennings County Jail
