Register online now!

(Ripley County, Ind.) – Over the past 32 years, churches in Ripley County have partnered with Church World Service to bring the Crop Hunger Walk to Ripley County, and the tradition continues in 2020.

The 33rd annual Ripley County Crop Hunger Walk is set to happen Sunday, October 4, at St. John’s UCC in Penntown.

Due to the current circumstances surrounding the pandemic, more people are in need now more than ever. For those who are not comfortable with participating in person, online registration, virtual walks, and donations will all be offered.

Participants will have the opportunity to either walk the "Golden Mile" or 10K on October 4 at St, John's or do a virtual walk at a place of the participant's choosing.

Regardless of which option is chosen, participants are required to register online or with a church or organization representative. Money must be turned in before the first Sunday in November.

Registration can be done online or on the day of the event. Online registration and donations can be done online at crophungerwalk.org. Day of registration will begin at 1:30 p.m. Registration tables will be set up outside. It asked that one representative register the group or organization.

75 percent of donations will be given to Church World Services to alleviate world hunger. The remaining 25 percent will benefit local food banks in Batesville, Delaware, Milan, and Sunman. Last year, $11,000 was raised in Ripley County. Each local food bank received a check of nearly $700.

Masks will be required while inside the building.
